Albert Vecerka’s images of the new Queens Theater are featured in the April issue of Architect Magazine. Nestled beneath the aggressive relics of the 1964-65 Worlds Fair in Flushing’s Corona Park,
Caples Jefferson Architects has created a new theater that demonstrates that additions, even to sites as loaded as this one, don’t need to mimic the past. The new pavilion doesn’t ape the site’s architectural relics, but neither does it dismiss them; more importantly, it brings new life to the site.
Albert’s most recent portfolio can be seen online.
