American Libraries, the Journal of the American Library Association, recently published an article on the successes of 100 libraries participating in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Library Alliance. The article coincides with Black History Month. The Atlanta University Center (AUC) serves the oldest and largest consortium of HBCUs: Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. With approximately 8,700 students and 700 faculty members, these institutions make up the Atlanta University Center.
Anton Grassl’s images of The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Robert W. Woodruff Library were featured in the piece. The library designed by Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott is a vibrant intellectual hub for students and faculty of the AUC.
